• Schladming–Dachstein Region

A summer and winter holiday region one of the most popular nature attractions in Austria, offering overwhelming landscapes and numerous outdoor activities opportunities. Dachstein ridge on the northern edge of the region is home to 300 mountain lakes, 1000 springs and 100 waterfalls. The major attractions of the region is accessed by riding the Dachstein glacier lift from Ramsau am Dachstein, 100 km southeast of Salzburg and south of Hallstatt, to Dachstein Mountain.
Enjoy the Dachstein Sky Walk, the Ice Palace and the suspension bridge with the “Staircase to nowhere”. While in the area, enjoy numerous hiking trails, cycling and mountain bike routes, rafting, kayaking and canyoning, paragliding and gliding. Also in the area horseback riding, high ropes courses, running and Nordic walk routes. Enjoy the numerous toboggan courses, Ski slopes and snowshoe hikes, and the Golf courses at Kobaldhof, Radstadt and Weißenbach/Liezen. The region can be reached via road B 320, A 10, and the Ennstalbahn railway line from Salzburg via Bischofshofen-Liezen to Graz.
