• The Belvedere Palace

An 18th century building complex used as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy in Vienna. The complex includes Baroque palaces, the Upper and Lower Belvedere, the Orangery, the Palace Stables, and the Belvedere Museum, all within a Baroque park. The popular tourist attraction, with each of the palaces at the opposite end of the park, is a collection of museums and galleries in a wonderful Baroque setting. The upper Belvedere palace was a ceremonial palace, richly decorated with stucco relief, ceiling frescoes, sculptures, paintings, and more.
The palace permanent art collection is famous for its Klimt’s and Schieles paintings, Medieval Masterpieces, and artworks from various periods.
The lower Belvedere palace, the functional palace, has rooms and halls highly decorated with the original Baroque style including ceiling fresco, patterned marble floor, floral patterns, and more. The palace including the Orangery is home to temporary art exhibitions, while the Palace Stables are home to a permanent medieval art collection.
On the Belvedere palace grounds enjoy the Belvedere art museum with its impressive collection of sculptures and panel paintings from the 12th to the 16th centuries period and bordering with the palace complex are the Alpine Gardens and the Botanical Gardens.
From Mid November through to the end of December enjoy the Belvedere Christmas Market in front of the Upper Belvedere palace.
