• Ullswater Lake

Part of the northern lakes, the lake is known for its magnificent tranquil beauty and is considered the most beautiful lake in the district. The southern point of the lake at Glenridding, is 27 km southeast of Keswick, and 25 km north of Windermere. With mountains to the south and rolling hills to the north enjoy the magnificent scenery while boat cruising the lake from Pooley Bridge to the Glenridding Pier, or by driving the 32 km circular road around the lake.
The cruise boats have drop-off points at Aira Force, the picturesque and impressive 20 meters high waterfall, and in the little village of Howtown, which serves as an exit point of trails heading to the nearby hill’s peaks. There are few great hiking trails around Ullswater Lake including the Lanty’s Tarn and Keldas Hill trail, a 4 km moderate loop trail, starting at Glenridding and offering overwhelming landscapes of Ullswater.
It is highly recommended to visit the Lake District National Park’s Information Centre near the Glenridding Pier, for guidance and information of all the outdoor activities opportunities around the lake.
