• Wray Castle

A 19th century Victorian Neo Gothic castle on the western shores of Windermere Lake. Explore the Castle’s elaborate hall, rooms, towers, turrets and narrow winding passages. The rooms are empty of the original furniture, but you can still imagine the 19th century lifestyle. The grounds, which include part of the shoreline of Windermere, are famous for their selection of specimen trees such as wellingtonia, redwood, gingkoa, weeping lime and varieties of beech trees.

Watbarrow Wood, with its pleasant trails, lies between the castle and the lake, offering beautiful scenery of the lake and its surroundings. Children will enjoy the visit with the Peter Rabbit adventure attraction and the opportunity to become kings and queens dressing up and building their own giant castles.
