There are a few magnificent attractions to enjoy in the Windsor Castle.
The castle’s extravagant State Apartments were described as “a superb and unrivalled sequence of rooms widely regarded as the finest and most complete expression of later Georgian taste. In the apartments, painted ceilings, woodcarvings, Rococo, Gothic and Baroque furnishings, and paintings by Holbein, Van Dyck, Rubens, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Rembrandt, among others. Enjoy also arms and armor displays, China, and many more artifacts. The State Apartments are open for visits when the king is not in the castle.

Queen Mary’s Dolls House is a perfect replica in miniature of an aristocratic home. It’s a masterpiece of craftsmanship, furnished in working miniatures and created by some of the early twentieth century leading artists, designers, and craftsmen.

The Semi-State Rooms are the private apartments created for George IV and used by the king for official entertainment. The rooms feature highly decorated interiors including the magnificent Crimson Drawing Room with its damask walls and gold leafed furnishings. The Semi-State Rooms are open from autumn until spring each year.

St George’s Chapel is a 15th century Gothic Chapel, the location of many royal weddings.
The Chapel facades are decorated with heraldic emblems of the ruling houses of Lancaster and York. Behind and above the stalls are the coats of arms, banners, and decorative plumes of 700 Knights of the Order. In the Chapel, the tombs of 10 monarchs, including George V, Queen Mary, Henry VIII, and Charles I.

The Round Tower was built by King Henry in the 13th century. The tower offers great views of the castle complex and its parks, the Thames valley and river, and the London skyline.

The castle gardens are relatively small, but the Great Park extends along the south side of the castle for 10 km and has an impressive herd of red Deer. The Savill Garden is one of England’s most impressive ornamental gardens is located on the edge of Windsor Castle’s Great Park. In the garden, a wide variety of plants in a beautiful natural setting, a collection of 60 sculptures, and an adventure playground for kids.
Watch the impressive Changing of the Guard ceremony which is similar to the guard changing ceremony at Buckingham Palace. The ceremony takes place in the Castle Precincts Monday through Saturday at 11am. The guards and the band march through Windsor town into the Castle where the guard change takes place.
