• Dennis Severs’ House

A “still-life drama” in Folgate Street, London, created by Dennis Severs as a “historical imagination” of what life would have been like for a Huguenot silk weavers’ family in the 18th-19th century.

Each of the 10 rooms in the house are refurbished as “still life drama” in a different historic style, as if they are in use and the occupants have only just left. The displays include items such as half-eaten food, and different smells and background sounds for each room.
