The capital and largest city of Wales is a beautiful small city and a popular tourist destination. The city has a rich history reflected in its architecture, from the Neolithic period of 6000 BC with evidence of Megalith structures, to modern days with the newly developed and regenerated Cardiff Bay and the Wales Millennium Centre.

Visiting the city you will admire the Cardiff Castle built in the 11th century on a Roman 3rd century fort, and the 19th century Victorian buildings.
Enjoy the city’s beautiful museums, the various attractions, the parks, the shopping opportunities in the Victorian and Edwardian arcades, and the vibrant night life in the bars , pubs, and the live music venues.

It’s an easy drive on the M4 coming from Bath and Bristol to Cardiff, where on the way we would suggest to spend half a day in Wye Valley and Tintern Abbey, a rural area with one of the most beautiful landscapes in the UK.

The city is the best place to start your travel in Wales, visiting the city and exploring the surrounding national parks, coastline and beautiful beaches, the castles, and much more.
Visit Cardiff for 1-2 days, and take 1-3 days trips north, south, and west of Cardiff exploring its beautiful and interesting surroundings.
You can also travel 180 km north and explore the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and its surrounding towns and villages.

If you have reached Cardiff directly and if time allows, consider traveling west to magnificent London through the beautiful attractions West of the city.
