A beautiful town one of the most visited cities in Spain, considered the heart and soul of Spain. The town is built on a hilltop surrounded by the Tagus River, 70 km southwest of Madrid.
\nToledo is named the three Cultures town reflecting a blend of Islam, Jewish, and Christian influences with overwhelming architectural and cultural legacy.
\nToledo\u2019s history is dated back to Roman occupation in the 2nd<\/sup> century BC, followed by Visigoth, Muslim, and the Christian Monarchs rule.<\/p>\n

Spend a day in Toledo strolling the walled Medieval town (Casco Historico) and its charming winding narrow cobbled streets, enjoy the peaceful courtyards and artisan shops, and visit its churches, palaces, fortresses, mosques, and synagogues.<\/p>\n

In the old town visit the 13e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle Toledo Cathedral Primada<\/a><\/strong>, a majestic Gothic Cathedral home to a great art gallery. Stroll the cobblestone streets of the La Juderia<\/strong>\u00a0(the Jewish Quarter) to visit the 12e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle Santa Mar\u00eda la Blanca Synagogue<\/strong><\/a>, le 14e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle El Tr\u00e1nsito<\/strong> Synagogue<\/strong><\/a> with its Sephardic Museum, and the magnificent El Greco House and Museum<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The most famous artworks found in Toledo are those of El Greco who lived in Toledo in the 16e<\/sup> century. El Greco paintings are displayed throughout the city’s churches and convents, as well as in the El Greco Museum.<\/p>\n

Walk along the preserved town walls (Las Murallas) surrounding the old town center and explore its three entrance gates, visit the Toledo Alcazar<\/strong><\/a> home to a Military Museum, and cross the Roman bridge of Puente de Alcantara over the river gorge to enjoy the magnificent views of the old town.<\/p>\n

There are numerous beautiful churches in Toledo, most converted from mosques. Visit the 10e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle Mezquita Cristo de la Luz<\/strong><\/a> presenting a mix of Mudejar architecture and Romanesque wall paintings, and the Gothic Iglesia de Santo Tome<\/strong><\/a> famous for its famous El Greco’s painting.<\/p>\n
