As such numerous castles, towers and fortified mansions were built in the valley as early as the 11<sup>e<\/sup> century. Some of the castles were abandoned and deteriorated into ruins over time, and some beautifully restored into magnificent urban and royal mansions during the 17<sup>e<\/sup>-20<sup>e<\/sup> centuries. The <a href=\"https:\/\/thetjoy.com\/fr\/attraction\/sarre-royal-castle\/\"><strong>Ch\u00e2teau royal de Sarre<\/strong><\/a> et le <a href=\"https:\/\/thetjoy.com\/fr\/attraction\/fenis-castle\/\"><strong>Le ch\u00e2teau de Fenis<\/strong><\/a> pr\u00e8s de la ville de <a href=\"https:\/\/thetjoy.com\/fr\/attraction\/aosta\/\"><strong>Aoste<\/strong><\/a>, et le <a href=\"https:\/\/thetjoy.com\/fr\/attraction\/verres-castle\/\"><strong>Verres<\/strong><\/a> et <a href=\"https:\/\/thetjoy.com\/fr\/attraction\/savoy-castle\/\"><strong>Savoy<\/strong><\/a> Castles further east are excellent examples of castles worth visiting.<\/span><\/p>\n\n    <div class=\"xs_social_share_widget xs_share_url after_content \t\tmain_content  wslu-style-1 wslu-share-box-shaped wslu-fill-colored wslu-none wslu-share-horizontal wslu-theme-font-no wslu-main_content\">\n\n\t\t\n        <ul>\n\t\t\t        <\/ul>\n    <\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Au Moyen \u00c2ge, la Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Aoste constituait une voie d\u2019acc\u00e8s aux cols alpins menant vers les pays du nord et de l\u2019ouest. C\u2019est pourquoi de nombreux ch\u00e2teaux, tours et manoirs fortifi\u00e9s y ont \u00e9t\u00e9 construits d\u00e8s le XIe si\u00e8cle. Certains de ces ch\u00e2teaux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 abandonn\u00e9s et sont tomb\u00e9s en ruines au fil du temps, tandis que d\u2019autres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 magnifiquement restaur\u00e9s pour devenir de somptueuses demeures urbaines et royales entre le XVIIe et le XXe si\u00e8cle.
