Hence, when compared to the<br \/>\novercrowded Krabi and Phi Phi islands, the remote southern destinations<br \/>\nrequire additional travel time and effort to reach, but reward visitors with<br \/>\nnatural beauty and tranquility. Most of the islands have limited<br \/>\naccommodation options, typically one or few resorts, no real towns or<br \/>\ncommercial development, and a deliberate focus on preserving natural<br \/>\nbeauty over tourists\u2019 infrastructure.<br \/>\nThe islands are best visited in November-April when the sea is calm and<br \/>\nthe weather is reliable. During the monsoon season, May through to<br \/>\nOctober, many resorts close completely and boat services are limited or<br \/>\nsuspended.
