Koh Lanta Island is Krabi Province’s largest inhabited island, with nine
\nbeaches, some developed and some deserted, along its western
\nAndaman Sea coast. The island, 70 km south of Krabi, is a more relaxed
\nand family friendly when compared to Phi Phi’s party atmosphere and
\nRailay’s adventure focus. The island offers beautiful long beaches,
\nexcellent diving in surrounding waters, and an authentic and slow pace
\nOld Town preserving sea Gypsy and Sino-Portuguese culture.
\nLanta Marine National Park, in the island\u2019s southern section and in the
\nsurrounding islands, protects the marine ecosystem and is considered
\nthe best diving location in Krabi Province, with dive shops offering trips
\nto Hin Daeng, Hin Muang, Koh Haa, and other renowned sites.
\nEnjoy yoga retreats and wellness centers, cooking classes, Elephant
\nsanctuaries offering activities with rescued elephants, kayaking through
\nmangroves on Lanta’s eastern coast, Motorbike touring of the island
\nattractions, and day tours to nearby islands.
\nTo reach Koh Lanta take a short ferry sail to the island from Ban Hua Hin pier.
