Most of the island\u2019s beaches are awarded Blue Flag status indicating their high quality.<br \/>\nNote that some of the beaches and coves are accessible only by boat.<br \/>\nClose to Skiathos town there are few family friendly beaches all with the required facilities including Kanapitsa Beach, Achladies Beach, Paralia Vassilias Beach, Megali Ammos Beach, Ftelia Beach, Tzaneria Beach, and Paralia Plakes Beach.<br \/>\nScuba Diving Centers are available at the southern beach resorts such as Koukounaries, Vromolimnos, and Vassilias.
