The highly popular town among local and foreign tourists, is known for its well preserved picturesque medieval old town and completely intact surrounding walls, and for being part of the popular German Romantic Road between Wurzburg in the north and Fussen in the south.<br \/>\nThe best way to enjoy the town is to stroll the old town narrow cobbled alleys and small squares, observing the pastel colored Medieval half-timbered houses with turrets, wooden bay windows, red roofs, and flower boxes. While strolling, window shop the small shops, especially those with Christmas items the town is famous for which are available all year round.<br \/>\nBe sure to spend time walking along the 4 km, 12<sup>e<\/sup> century walls encircling the town, with their 40 towers and gatehouses, enjoying the picturesque landscapes of the old town and the Tauber Valley.<br \/>\nVisit the town&#8217;s Market Square with its 15<sup>e<\/sup> century fountain, and the 16<sup>e<\/sup> century Renaissance column with the St George and the Dragon sculpture at the top.<br \/>\nObserve the nearby Impressive 16<sup>e<\/sup> century Renaissance Town Hall (Rathaus) and climb its 13<sup>e<\/sup> century 60 meters high tower for magnificent scenery of the town, the pastoral countryside, and the Tauber Valley.
