The village is famous for its 11<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle <strong>Coteaux-des-Baux<\/strong><strong> fortress<\/strong> overlooking the village. Enjoy the scenic mountain road leading to the village\u00a0offering beautiful landscapes of the Rocky Mountains, the plains, and the Mediterranean in the distance. Stroll the village narrow alleys and admire the 16<sup>e<\/sup> century townhouses, the partially preserved village walls, and the 19<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle <strong>Porte Mage<\/strong> et <strong>Porte d&#8217;Eyguieres gates<\/strong>. Window shop the small local shops and enjoy the Coteaux-des-baux-en-provence red and rose wines. Visit the 12<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle <strong>Saint Vincent and the Penitents Blancs <\/strong>chapel, and the <strong>Musee des Santons,<\/strong> home to a collection of 17<sup>e<\/sup> and 18<sup>e<\/sup> century Naples\u2019 figurines. Continue to the Hotel de Porcelet with its beautiful windows, 17<sup>e<\/sup> century frescoes and the <strong>Yves Brayer Museum.<\/strong> in the <strong>Hotel Brion<\/strong> home to the<strong> Foundation Louis Jou <\/strong>and explore its collection of Medieval books and engravings including those of Durer and Goya. Climb the old stairs to the large and impressive fortress of <strong>Chateau des Baux<\/strong>, a highly popular destination in the village\u00a0and stroll its grounds. Explore the ruins of the walls and towers, the small 12<sup>e<\/sup> century chapel, the houses carved into the rock, and the Dovecoat with its 2,000 Pigeon nesting holes.<br \/>\nDuring April through to September live demonstrations of full-size replicas of Siege Weapons with knights in armor are held in the fortress grounds. The demonstrations includ the biggest Trebuchet (Catapult) in Europe, a Battering Ram, and a Ballista.
