Herculaneum, a wealthy Roman town, is better preserved than Pompeii and its ruins and remains are extremely impressive and sometimes shocking.<br \/>\nThe town&#8217;s beautiful buildings, private houses, public baths, taverns, temples, and artworks are all undamaged. Enjoy the sculptures, magnificent frescoes, and mosaics. The most famous of the luxurious villas at Herculaneum is the &#8220;Villa of the Papyri&#8221;, a seafront retreat of Julius Caesar&#8217;s father-in-law, which stretched down towards the sea in four terraces.<br \/>\nReach Herculaneum from Naples.
