The divers\u2019 landscapes of mountains, valleys, water streams, high cliffs, and long coastline, creates<br \/>\nendless opportunities to experience and enjoy the beautiful nature, either hiking, running or biking its trails, rock climbing, canyoning, paragliding, bird watching and more.<br \/>\nConsult with the tourist information centres or one of the island\u2019s operators for information and services offered and take all measures to keep you safe.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Madeira has a beautiful network of dozens of <strong>Trails<\/strong> of all levels and length, from the coastal trails through to subtropical forests trails to viewpoints and mountain tops.<br \/>\nWhether Hiking, Nordic Walking, or Running, a great experience is guaranteed.<\/li>\n<li>Unique in Madeira are the \u2018Levadas\u2019, trails that run parallel to water collection open air tunnels that leads water for irrigation from the northern mountains to the lower southern grounds.<br \/>\nSelected popular trails are presented in the destinations and attractions descriptions.
