Visit the katholicon, the chapels of Agios Ioannis and Agios Demetrios, and admire the beautiful frescoes and the magnificent wall of carved icons and religious paintings. More in the complex, a Folklore Museum with a collection of rare books, manuscripts from the 17<sup>e<\/sup> century, gospels from the 18<sup>e<\/sup> century, and various religious artifacts.<br \/>\nThe monastery is important also for its role in the Greek independence war.
