Spend half a day strolling the narrow cobbled streets, explore the 5<sup>e<\/sup> century Old Fortress, <strong>Palaio Frourio<\/strong>, and visit the 16<sup>e<\/sup> century new fortress with its Medieval interior architecture.<\/p>\n<p>When in town, TheTjoy recommends;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enjoy the Liston, a commercial and residential building with an arched colonnade, home to small shops, cafes, and restaurants<\/li>\n<li>D\u00e9couvrez le <strong>Spianada<\/strong>,\u00a0the impressive town&#8217;s square and park, and at night dance in one of the mega night clubs in Ethikis Antistaseos Street.<\/li>\n<li>Visit the restored 19<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle <strong>Palace of Saints Michael and George<\/strong>, its beautiful gardens overlooking the bay, and its Museum of Asian art of Corfu with its more than 10,000 artifacts collections.<\/li>\n<li>There are numerous churches in the old town of which we would highlight the town&#8217;s 16<sup>e<\/sup> century cathedral, <strong>Saint Spyridon Church<\/strong>, with its magnificent interior, Venetian Silver and great paintings, home to beautiful ceiling frescoes and the relics of the patron saint of the island.<\/li>\n<li>Explore the collection of ancient artifacts excavated in the island of Corfu in the Archaeological Museum of Corfu, and the\u00a0liturgical and Icons artifacts collection at the Antivouniotissa Museum\u00a0of post Byzantine\u00a0religious art in the former 16<sup>e<\/sup> century church of the\u00a0Holy Mother of God Antivouniotissa.<\/li>\n<li>There are a few beaches in and around Corfu city including the small Faliraki Beach which is not convenient for swimming, Mon Repos Beach and the rocky Anemomylos beach.
