The Alepotripa Cave, part of the complex which is close to the public, was used in the Neolithic period as a shelter and a place of living home to workshop, storage area, cemetery, and worship site.\u00a0The Vlichada cave on the other hand is open for visits with its 2.5 km of winding waterways enabling 40 minutes exploration of the cave by boat.
