The magnificent Viti, a few hundred meters west of Krafla, is a huge 300 meters diameter\u00a0 explosion crater with a green lake within it.<br \/>\nTake the 20 minute trail to the edge of the Krafla caldera rim through the lava fields where the sulfur vents and rocks are still warm from the last eruption.<br \/>\nVisit the Krafla Visitor Centre, open daily in the Krafla Geothermal Station building, to learn about geothermal power ant its potential.<br \/>\nTo reach Krafla take road 863 going 14 km north from the Ring Road.<\/p>\n\n    <div class=\"xs_social_share_widget xs_share_url after_content \t\tmain_content  wslu-style-1 wslu-share-box-shaped wslu-fill-colored wslu-none wslu-share-horizontal wslu-theme-font-no wslu-main_content\">\n\n\t\t\n        <ul>\n\t\t\t        <\/ul>\n    <\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 10 km in diameter and 2 km deep Krafla caldera is 15 km northeast of Myvatn Lake.
