To reach the beach either take a boat from Kissamos, 40 km west of Chania, or drive a car, preferably 4x4, and walk down 20 minutes from the car park to the beach. From the beach you can walk, in the water, to the tiny islet of Gramvousa and its 16th century Venetian fort. The beach is great for children as the waters are shallow and calm.
