The festivals are The Festivities of St John at the end of June, the Our Lady of Grace Festival held in mid August with liturgy and musical entertainment, the Our Lady of Mercy Festival held at the end of August including traditional music bands, and the Vineyards Festival at the end of August. Christopher Columbus lived in Porto Santo, in Vila Baleira, in the 2nd half of the 15th century. The Columbus Festival is held in September offering music and street shows, exhibitions, and a parade.
