On the end of the 14<sup>th<\/sup> century many of the castles lost their importance and declined slowly, abandoned, and eventually destroyed. And the\u00a0<strong>RheinSteigweg<\/strong>\u00a0on the eastern bank of the river from R\u00fcdesheim to Koblenz-Ehrenbreitstein and northward.
