The largest of the\u00a0Greek Dodecanese\u00a0islands in the South Aegean\u00a0sea, with the capital and major town being the town of Rhodes in the Islands northern tip. \nThe old town of Rhodes<\/strong><\/a> is considered one of the biggest and most preserved Medieval towns in Europe. Many civilizations have left their marks in the island, from the Classical Hellenistic and the Roman periods to the Ottomans, Italians, and others.<\/p>\n

Enjoy the Greek and Roman remarkable archeological sites and Acropolises in the towns of Rhodes<\/strong><\/a>, Lindos<\/strong><\/a>, and Kameiros<\/strong><\/a>, the old town of Rhodes built in the 14th<\/sup>-16th<\/sup> centuries, the Ottomans and Italian architecture in the new town of Rhodes, and more.<\/p>\n

Rhodes is one of the most beautiful of the Greek islands and together with Crete, the most visited one.

Spend time exploring the great scuba diving sites, hike the beautiful trails, play Golf, or enjoy the water sports facilities in the beaches. Take a day cruise around the island, to the island of Symi<\/strong><\/a>, or for deep water fishing.<\/p>\n

To reach Rhodes, take a flight from Athen<\/strong><\/a>, Thessaloniki<\/strong><\/a>, or from one of the European and Mediterranean capitals, or take a ferry from Piraeus, Crete, or from the other Dodecanese islands.
\nRhodes has around 300 days a year of sunshine, with hot and dry summers and mild winters. The main season to visit the island is May through to October.
