The most important structures were built in the 5<sup>th<\/sup> century BC including the Parthenon, the Marble made temple of the Goddess Athena, the Propylaea, the grand gateway to the Acropolis, the Erechtheion, the Athena and Poseidon temple, and the Temple of Athena Nike.
