The old town of Rhodes is considered one of the biggest and most preserved Medieval towns in Europe. Many civilizations have left their marks in the island, from the Classical Hellenistic and the Roman periods to the Ottomans, Italians, and others.

Enjoy the Greek and Roman remarkable archeological sites and Acropolises in the towns of Rhodes, Lindos, and Kameiros, the old town of Rhodes built in the 14th-16th centuries, the Ottomans and Italian architecture in the new town of Rhodes, and more.

Rhodes is one of the most beautiful of the Greek islands and together with Crete, the most visited one.
Visit the town of Rhodes to explore the Palace of the Grand Masters, the Mandarki Port and the seafront with the central market, cafes, restaurants, and clubs. Stroll through the Hippocrates quarter, and hangout in the Orfanidou Street, the Pubs Street, the town’s center of entertainment and night life.

Explore the castles and monasteries of the island, such as the Tsambika Monastery, offering great views of the coastline and sea, the Valley of the Butterflies, the Seven Springs tunnel, Kallithea Therapeutic Springs, and many more attractions.

Spend time exploring the great scuba diving sites, hike the beautiful trails, play Golf, or enjoy the water sports facilities in the beaches. Take a day cruise around the island, to the island of Symi, or for deep water fishing.

To reach Rhodes, take a flight from Athens, Thessaloniki, or from one of the European and Mediterranean capitals, or take a ferry from Piraeus, Crete, or from the other Dodecanese islands.
Rhodes has around 300 days a year of sunshine, with hot and dry summers and mild winters. The main season to visit the island is May through to October.
When visiting Rhodes, assuming it’s a “beach” vacation, TheTjoy.com recommends visiting the town of Rhodes and its attractions for one day, and the same for the island’s other attractions, and if time allows to take a day cruise to the Island of Symi.
