A beach resort town on the Mediterranean Sea in the Turkish Riviera, 125 km west of Fethiye and 264 km southeast of Izmir. Settlement in the area is traced back to ~12,000 BC, and a Greek harbor town was on site in the 6th century BC.

Located between mountains by the sea, Marmaris surrounding Beach Resorts are rich with beautiful beaches, bays and coves, and beautiful modern hotel resorts of all price level. The town is a center of Yachting, sailing and diving, with two major and several smaller marinas with all the boating facilities.

Take a boat day cruise around the bay and the secluded coves, to the nearby islands and neighboring towns (Icmeler, Turunc, and others), to the ancient Lycian city of Kaunos, and to many more destinations.
