Lucca is a highly popular city in the northeast of Tuscany.
The city of 100 churches has a highly preserved historic center completely encircled by its famous Renaissance walls.

Enjoy the monuments, churches, and architecture of the various town eras. Walk the pedestrian promenade on top of the city walls and visit the Duomo, the church of San Michele and the Basilica of San Frediano.

Stroll the narrow, cobbled streets to Piazza dell’Anfiteatro which used to be a Roman amphitheater and visit Piazzale Verdi and Piazza Napoleone. Relax in the city park or while seating under the trees on the benches along the city walls, or window shop in via Fillungo, where you’ll find the city’s chicest shops.

You can stay more than a day in and around Lucca and enjoy the city countryside and rural landscapes. Visit castles and villas with their amazing gardens, the village of Montecarlo with its vineyards and excellent wine, and the seaside town of Versilia.

Strada del Vino e dell’Olio, the Wine and Olive oil route leads from Montecarlo in the east, through Lucca to Versilia near the ocean, is home to two of the best vineyards in the hills surrounding Lucca, Fabbrica Di San Martino and Fattoria Al Dotto Lucca.
Take a guided tour in a local vineyard and enjoy tasting the wonderful wine.
