Greece presents impressive archeological sites and museums, overwhelming scenery, fabulous culture, and especially beautiful sandy beaches and resorts.
There are six major traveling regions in mainland Greece, including the capital Athens, the northwestern Meteora, Zagori, and Tzoumerka regions with their overwhelming scenery and cultural experiences, and the northern Halkidiki and the Olympus Riviera regions with their marvelous beach resorts. In addition are The Peloponnese peninsula with its magnificent archeological gems and beach resorts, and the numerous world famous Greek Islands.
When visiting Athens consider 1-3 day trips north to Delphi, Meteora, and or the Zagori and Tzoumerka regions, or southwest to the Peloponnese peninsula. If you plan a summer vacation in either one of the Greek Islands or in the Peloponnese, consider a visit to Athens in your way in or out of Greece.
If you plan a summer vacation in northern Greece, either in Halkidiki or in the Olympus Riviera, consider visiting the Meteora, Zagori and Tzoumerka regions.
