About Alanya

A beach resort city in Antalya Province, 138 km east of Antalya and part of the Turkish Riviera. The city lies on a small Mediterranean peninsula below the Taurus Mountains, with 70 km of coastline.

Alanya was already occupied in the Paleolithic era 20,000 BC as can be explored in the nearby Karain Cave, and in the Bronze age 3,000 BC which its port remains are south of the modern city. Later, the town was occupied by the Roman, the Byzantine, and the Ottoman Empire.

The warm Mediterranean climate, with 300 days of sunshine a year, the great sandy beaches, the natural attractions, the fine cuisine, and the vibrant night life, makes Alanya a popular vacation destination.
