• Vincent Van Gogh in Arles

The Dutch painter lived in Arles in 1888-9, painting numerous paintings including some of his most famous. Follow Van Gogh’s footsteps or take a walking tour organized by the tourist office, and visit some of the sites that inspired him including the Arena, the Bridge of Langlois, Saintes-Maries de la Mar, Saint Trophime cathedral, and many others. Visit the Vincent van Gogh Foundation to explore the impact of his work on 19th-20th century art, and enjoy “Espace Van Gogh” in the beautiful courtyard of the old Arles hospital where some of his works are presented.
