• Vendicari Nature Reserve

A beautiful seaside nature reserve, with small rocky lagoons, sand dunes, and numerous “deserted” sandy beaches for swimming and sun tanning.
It’s a great place to visit for the nature lovers. The nature reserve is near Sicily’s southeast tip, north of Marsamemi and south of Noto, 43 km south of Syracuse.

Enjoy the the beaches and marshes, the wide variety of Mediterranean Flora and local Fauna, hike the wonderful seaside trails, watch the birds, swim, snorkel, and sunbath.

Spend time in one of the beautiful tranquil beaches including Eloro beach in the north, Marianelli beach, the famous Calamosche beach, and Vendicari beach in the south.

Enjoy bird watching in the nature reserve, home to migrating Pink Flamingos, Storks, Herons and Cormorants in the Autumn, and ducks, mallards, pintails, and terns in the winter.

Near Vendicary beach visit the 15th century Sveva Tower and the 18th century Cittadella Maccari tuna factory, a Byzantine village from the 6th century, and the Trigona Byzantine Vendicari Church.

Drive the SP19 road, between Noto and Pachino and use one of the three entrances to the nature reserve, and when using the mid entrance follow the Torre di Vendicari sign.

Spend at least half a day in the nature reserve to explore the beautiful nature surroundings and to enjoy one of the beautiful beaches.
