This trip will take you east of Trento to the southwestern Brenta Dolomites, the glaciers of Adamello-Presanella, and Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta nature park.
In the area beautiful lakes, Tovel and Molveno, powerful waterfalls, diversified wildlife and great mountains and valleys landscapes. Enjoy the area in one day of admiring the major attractions, or in few more days of active vacation, hiking, water sports in the lakes, bicycling and more.

Starting in Trento for a round trip, Thetjoy.com recommends a route that include visits of the following attractions by the order of visit,
- Start at Orrido di Ponte Alto in Trento and continue to Nardis and Lares waterfalls (Cascata Di Lares) in the Genova valley, Cascate di Vallesinella (di Mezzo waterfalls) and Ritorto and Lambin Lakes at Madonna di Campiglio.
- Visit the beautiful Saent falls at Rabbi valley, Lake Tovel, Molveno Lake and Town, and head back to Trento.
While planning your route, note that SS239 north of Tione di Trento to Madonna di Campiglio, and SS237 south of Tione di Trento towards La Garda Lake, are very beautiful roads going through picturesque villages enjoying the mountain range landscape.

Orrido di Ponte Alto
A short distance from the center of Trento, two beautiful waterfalls, more than 40 meters high in a red rock narrow canyon carved by the waters of the Fersina stream. Enjoy the canyon and waterfalls walking in a trail in the canyon with a local guide. The canyon can be reached by car (to a nearby car park) or by bus from the Trento FS train station.
Nardis and Lares waterfalls
Highly impressive falls located in the Genova valley part of Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta. There are a few nice 1-7 days hiking trails starting at the park entrance, Camping Parco Adamello. One of the trails follows the Sarka di Val Genova river, through 5 waterfalls in the canyon between the mountains.
You can either walk along the river or drive to the Nardis waterfall 5 km from the entrance, and to the Lares waterfall for an additional 4 km. On the way you will enjoy the river, Alpine pastures, and the mountain range landscapes. You can continue for an additional few day hike to the next 3 waterfalls up in the canyon.
Cascate di Vallesinella (di Mezzo)
Three beautiful waterfalls, Cascata di Mezzo, Cascate Alte, and Cascata di Sotto, located in a beautiful setting, 2 km outside of Madonna di Campiglio. You will reach these waterfalls following a leisure walk in the woods of the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park forest at the feet of the Brenta Dolomites Mountain Range.
To reach the Cascate Alte and the Cascata di Sotto, a family level ring trail, 4 hours long, is available.

From Madonna di Campiglio, hike to the two beautiful small lakes of Ritorto and Lambin which hides at the bottom of the gigantic walls of Mount Nambron.
Saent Waterfalls
The treasure of Rabbi Valley, in the Stelvio National Park, near Piazzola. These nice waterfalls create white cascades in contrast to the green surroundings and the dark red of the rocks. The waterfalls can be reached using an easy and enjoyable hike. Once in the valley entrance parking lot consult with the nearby tourist information for the hiking possibilities.
Lake Tovel
Lago di Tovel, 45 km north of Molveno, is famous for its beautiful setting, richness of plants and trees, and the amazing reflections of the mountain range and the trees in the water. It’s a nice 1.5 hour easy stroll around the lake.
Molveno Lake
Molveno is a nice lively town and a lake, 45 km northeast of Trento and 45 km north of Lake La Garda. The area offers few attractions and leisure activities including nice beaches with playing grounds, sailing on the lake, hiking and cycling trails, and more.
In Molveno you can take the Funivie Molveno Pradel Cable Car to the top of Pradel Mountain. At the top, enjoy the lake and mountains views, and for children, look for the wild animal and forest park, Percorso Degli Scoiattoli.
You can continue ascending using the Pradel Croz dell Zaltissimo Cable Car, or you can hike for 1.5 hours down through the forest to town.
