A Medieval town and an important fishing port, the main gateway to the nearby Egadi Islands, 110 km west of Palermo. Enjoy a quiet and relaxed stroll in the center’s car free streets of Via Garibaldi, via Torrearsa and Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Visit the ancient churches of Chiesa Anime Sante del Purgatorio, Chiesa di Santa Maria del Gesu, and the Cattedrale di San Lorenzo, and enjoy the facades of the Baroque Palaces Senatorio and Riccio di Morana.
For a relaxed experience stroll the beautiful 19th century Villa Margherita Park. Visit the Museo Nazionale Pepoli within the 14th century Carmelite monastery, to enjoy the 17th – 18th centuries Coral carvings collection, the collection of Gagini sculptures, silver work, archaeological artefacts and more. For the children, visit Bisbini Park, south of town, where small children can enjoy inflatable slides, rides, shows and more.
3 km south of the town center visit Saline di Trapani e Paceco Saltworks with its typical windmill and the large salt pools. Spend half a day in Trapani, consider visiting nearby Marsala, and return to Palermo.
