A modern art museum in the Kunstareal area of Munich considered one of the world’s largest modern and contemporary art museums, and one of the most popular of its kind in Europe. Various art movements of the 20th century are represented in the museum including Expressionism, Fauvism, Cubism, New Objectivity, Bauhaus, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art and Minimal Art. In addition to the art categories collections enjoy the Theo Worml and surrealism collection, Woty and Theodor Werner collection of Paul Klee and the Cubists, Martha and Mark Kruss collection of Expressionism, and more.
The museum main collection includes Modernism Art since the 1900s, including works by Pablo Picasso, Max Beckmann, Joan Miro, Rene Magritte, Oskar Kokoschka, Salvador Dalí, and many others. The German Expressionism is represented by works of the Die Brucke, and the Der Blaue Reiter groups. International Contemporary Art is represented by works of Andy Warhol, Henry Moore, David Hockney and many others.
Also in the museum various Video, Photos and New Media art works, the Collection of applied modernist art including industrial design and graphic design works. Enjoy a collection of works including drawing masterpieces by Albrecht Durer, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, David Hockney and others.
