• The Palazzo della Ragione

A Medieval 14th century 2 stories Palace located between the two market squares of Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza dei Frutti. In the 1st floor, a vibrant and colorful food produce covered market, the oldest in Padua (and in Europe), home to numerous shops and stalls. The 2nd floor was the town hall and palace of justice of Padua. The 81 meters by 27 meters huge hall, “il Salone”, has its walls completely covered by magnificent 14th and 15th centuries frescoes of more than 300 scenes. Also standing in the hall are a huge replica of Donatello’s Horse sculpture and two Egyptian Sphynx.
