• Archaeological Museums of Istanbul

A group of three archaeological museums, in the Eminönü district of Istanbul, near Gülhane Park and Topkapı Palace, including The Archaeological Museum, The Museum of the Ancient Orient, and the Tiled Pavilion.
The Archaeological Museum is home to major collections of Turkish, Hellenistic, and Roman artifacts. Explore the four sarcophagi from the Ayaa necropolis in Sidon including the Alexander (“the great”?) Sarcophagus, a Troy exhibit, three tablets of the Egyptian–Hittite peace treaty (1258 BCE), and other artifacts from the early civilizations of Anatolia, Mesopotamia, Arabia, and Egypt.
The Museum of the Ancient Orient collection include pre-Islamic items gathered from the Ottoman Empire territories, and the Museum of Islamic Art is home to Seljuk, Anatolian and Ottoman tiles and ceramics from the 12th century to the 20th century.
