• Mira de Aire Cave

The Grutas de Mira de Aire is a highly impressive and popular limestone caves system, located in central Portugal 116 km north of Lisbon and 44 km east of the Atlantic coast at Nazare. Exploring the cave, part of a 1 hour tour, you will enjoy 110 meters underground, a lake, numerous cathedral like chambers, and magnificent stalactites, stalagmites, and other beautiful and interesting rock formations which once lighted with different colours are often breathtaking.
The cave system is one of few in these parts of Portugal including the nearby Cave of Coins, Grutas de Moeda, near the Sanctuary of Fatima. The caves system isre part of the Parque Natural das Serras de Aire e Candeeiros, with its beautiful nature landscapes, green valleys, mountain peaks, numerous olive groves, and tranquil villages.
