Europe’s best known prehistoric monument of Megaliths, dated to 2000 to 3000 BC, 3 km west of Amesbury and 55 km southeast of Bath. The main site consists of standing stones arranged in a 33 meters ring, each ~4 meters high and ~2 meters wide, weighing ~25 tons. The site includes several hundred burial mounds.

It is estimated that the site was used as a burial ground among other purposes. Various exhibitions at the excellent visitor center presents possible methods for the site construction, and the Neolithic life and tools at the time it was built.
Its highly recommended to purchase tickets in advance to avoid the ques and secure the entry.
