• Shopping in Munich

There are a few leading streets and districts in which you will be able to spend time shopping and window shopping in Munich. For high end designer shops, luxury boutiques, jewelry stores, and art galleries visit the western part of Maximilianstraße. In the pedestrian area of aufingerstrasse between Karlsplatz (Stachus) and Marienplatz, explore various fashion Boutiques, electronic shops and more, and relax in one of many cafes, Bear Gardens, and restaurants.
The Glockenbachviertel, is a trendy shopping area with fashion, design, and jewelry shops, alongside cafes and bars. If you prefer a shopping center, try the Olympia-Einkaufszentrum, the largest in Bavaria, near the Olympic Park (west). In the months of November and December Munich offers a few Christmas Markets in various locations. The largest and most vibrant Christmas market is in Marienplatz, at the Rindermarkt, with hundreds of stalls selling handmade products including Alpine woodcarvings from Oberammergau, Christmas decorations and local food produce.
