A highly popular Winter and Summer holiday resort town, in Tyrol, Austria, 28 km northwest of Innsbruck. Located on a plateau, the town has two main mountain areas, perfect for cross country skiing and hiking, the Gschwandtkopf rounded hill, and the Rosshutte on the slopes of the mountains east of town. The most impressive nature attraction near town is the Leutasch Klamm, a beautiful gorge with a roaring stream and waterfalls. To enjoy the gorge, walk one of two beautiful and exciting trails held on metal bridges and high platforms above the water stream. The first trail, 3 km long, starts in the visitors center east of the village of Leutasch, and the second 2 km long trail start near the village of Mittenwald in the German side of the Gorge.
