The island’ east coast has calmer clear waters, whereas the west is windier, hence has better windsurfing conditions. The southern and southwest coast beaches are usually more tranquil and secluded. Faliraki Beach
Near Kalithea village 10 km South of Rhodes it is one of the island’s most famous sandy beach and resort, with all-inclusive hotels, water sports facilities, parasailing, bungee jumping, and many other activities. The beach may be crowded in the summer season.
Ladiko Beach
A crowded small beach Near Kalithea village 15 km south of Rhodes. The beach offers all the required beach facilities, traditional taverns, and magnificent landscapes.
Afandou Beach
A beautiful quiet and secluded beach 20 km south of Rhodes, a highly popular family destination with numerous accommodation opportunities and a modern 18 holes Golf course. The nearby village is known for its local hand woven carpets.
The Atlantica Imperial Resort and Spa at Kolympia village is 7 km south of Afandou beach. From the resort you can enjoy hiking and cycling along the banks of the River Loutanis to the beautiful Seven Springs Waterfalls, and all the way to the traditional village of Archipoli.

The village of Archangelos, 30 km south of Rhodes, is a Medieval village known for its authenticity, and for maintaining the old traditions of arts and crafts, especially those of handmade pottery and tapestries. The area is known for its beautiful sandy beaches and great resorts such as Tsambika Beach and the beautiful family resort with the Monastery of the Virgin Mary built on the cliff above the beach.

The Beaches of Lindos
The village of Lindos 48 km south of the town of Rhodes has few great beaches and resorts spread below the village. Lindos Beach is highly popular offering great facilities and local taverns, the Vlycha Beach is highly popular with families, the small and tranquil Pefki Beach, and the Saint Paul’s Bay private beaches offering great views of the Lindos Acropolis.
The Southeastern Beaches
The beaches south of Lindos, 50-60 km south of Rhodes, include the sandy Glystra Beach, the long sandy beach of Kiotari in a charming fisherman village, and the tranquil and pebbled beach of Gennadi. Further south you will find beautiful bays and secluded coves all the way to Prassonissi at the Southern tip of the island, 90 km south of Rhodes. In Prassonissi you will enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches in the island, ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
The Beaches of the West Coast
There are some popular beaches and resorts at Ialyssos, the Trianda, and Ixia areas, 8 km west of Rhodes. The area is known for its array of popular cosmopolitan resorts, with great nightlife and entertainment opportunities, and for the great conditions for sailing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. The popular destinations are at Kremasti, 12 km west of Rhodes, Theologos, 20 km west of Rhodes, and Fourni, a small and secluded beach without any facilities, 3 km from Monolithos and 76 km west of Rhodes.
