Enjoy the local traditions and festivals and visit at Piazza del Duomo the Cathedral of San Zeno. In the cathedral admire the famous altar of San Jacopo, a masterpiece of Italian jewelry, and the 60 meters high Bell Tower. Enjoy the 14th century Gothic Baptistery of San Giovanni in Corte and the Bishop’s Palace. Other Romanesque churches include St. Andrew by Giovanni Pisano, St. Bartolomeo in Pantano, S. Pier Maggiore and St. Giovanni Fuorcivitas. Important Renaissance churches include the 16th century Madonna of Umilta, whose dome was designed by Giorgio Vasari, and the Church del Letto in St Lorenzo Square. Another interesting museum is the 13th century Ceppo Hospital and its Museum of ancient surgical instruments, the anatomical Amphitheatre, and the anatomical dissecting room. Be sure to take your children to the Pistoia Underground Museum within the hospital area, an underground, 600 square meters, archaeological site presenting the origin of Pistoia. While in town visit the 14th century Medici Fortress of Santa Barbara, the walls that surround the city, and the nearby park.

For leisure and relaxation time enjoy the nearby Thermal Springs in Montecatini and Monsummano.

The show include “knights” attacking a bear shaped target, absolutely a must see for children.
