• Pfaffenwinkel region and the Wieskirche Church

Located southwest of Munich on the Romantic Road, on the way to Fussen, the region is known for its charming small villages and picturesque towns, with numerous small chapels and churches presenting Baroque and Rococo artworks and ornaments. One of the most important pilgrimage churches in southern Germany is the 18th century Wieskirche Church (Wies Church) near Steingaden, famous for its stunning Rococo artworks, extravagant gold-plated stucco works, and numerous paintings. The church is 113 km southwest of Munich and 27 km northeast of Fussen.
