• Paul da Serra Plateau

Paul da Serra Plateau ispart of the municipality of Ponta do Sol and the only mountain plateau in Madeira.
With an altitude of 1,500 meters the plateau offers magnificent landscapes of mountain peaks, deep valleys, Laurissilva forests and waterfalls.
The area is covered with lush and diversified Flora, and diversified Fauna especially bird species, with numerous Levadas and hiking trails.
Driving the ER211/105 or the ER104 scenic roads up to the mountains from Ponta do Sol or from Calheta both on the southern coast, you will arrive to the Paul da Serra Plateau and the PR6/6.1 trail. On ER105 you will find the starting point of two Levadas to the Risco waterfall and the Lagoa das 25 Fontes Waterfall, and many others.
