• Panarea

The smallest and the most fashionable, exclusive, and expensive island, serving the international jet set visitors in summer with their luxury yachts anchoring in the small harbor of San Pietro, the main island’s village.

In low season the island is quiet and beautiful but with most of the facilities closed.

There are beautiful hiking opportunities in the island including an hour walk to the dark gold sandy beach of Zammara and the magnificent bay of Cala Junca, a half an hour walk to the beach of Calcara where fumaroles are steaming through sulphur-stained rocks, and many more.

Take a day trip to explore the island’s five fabulous offshore islets, swimming and enjoying their unique rock formations and colors.

  • The islet of Basiluzzo, where you can see in the waters the remains of a Roman port
  • The islet of Lisca Bianca with the underwater fumaroles bubbling and a nice small white sand beach,
  • The islet of Dattilo with its nice swimming beach at its southwestern tip.
