• Otzi Dorf Museum

An open-air museum in Umhausen, Tyrol, Austria, 37 km southeast of Imst. The museum is dedicated to the life of the 5,000 years old Otzi Iceman that his mummy was found in 1991 buried under the ice in the region. The museum presents everyday life in the Neolithic Age including hunting hut, warehouse, residential huts, Neolithic grave, craft displays, and real life animals typical to the period.
As part of the museum tour, children will be trained to use bow and arrow, to make fire, and to bake a cake. Note that the real Otzi Mummy is presented in the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Bolzano, Italy.
