• Monastery of Paleokastritsa

A large 13th century Byzantine monastery considered one of the most beautiful and important in the island of Corfu, offering an overwhelming scenery of the island and the coastline. The monastery stands on a rock above the northwestern coast near the village of Paleokastritsa, 26 km northwest of Corfu. In the monastery a small museum with a collection of religious Byzantine artifacts, holy books, and a traditional Olive oil press which is still operating.
