The “Garden of Europe” is home to one of the world’s largest flower gardens, with 79 acres of magnificent floral displays and famous for its tulips. The Keukenhof is near Lisse, 45 km southwest of Amsterdam and the same northeast of De Hague.

The garden is open between March and May with April being the ideal time to visit and admire the various Tulip types blooming.  To enhance your visit rent a bicycle and cycle through the commercial flower fields surrounding Keukenhof.

Visit the nearby 17th century Keukenhof Castle and grounds to enjoy the beautiful paintings, artworks, period furniture, and the Chinese and Japanese porcelain collection. Admire the beautiful castle’s Dahlia gardens, a petting zoo, the LAM Lisse Museum, and consider strolling the nearby forest trails.

Spend around half a day enjoying nature and art, traveling from Amsterdam, Leiden, or De Hague.
