• Eilean Donan Castle

A highly popular photographic and tourist site, founded in the 13th century and reconstructed in the early 20th century. The castle is located on a small island connected to the mainland by a footbridge where three sea lochs meet near the village of Dornie, 70 km west of Loch Ness and 16 km east of the isle of Skye.

The castle is home to a fascinating collection of artworks, local history artifacts, period furniture, cannonballs fired on the castle in the 18th century, and more.
